Green Cheek Conure – Perches – Food ?
I am getting a green cheek in a couple weeks and I bought some perches, but after seeing them in the cage and seeing some green cheek conure videos, now I’m not sure if they are the right size, what size are green cheek conure’s feet? Or what size/diameter perch should I focus on getting?
And for food, what size of food Do I get? Do I get small parrot size, cockatiel size? Is there a great diet for them specifically(Like kaytee has a cockatiel diet, and tropimix has a cockatiel/lovebird diet)? I’ll have to order it off the internet since all the petstores out here only offer cockatiel and budgie food.

get several different size/kind of perches. not real fat ones. My green cheek has a few plastic ones some wood, a sandy one to scrape their beaks on and trim their toenails, and then a woven material one. the different kinds and sizes will exercise their feet.
I also buy the cockatiel size food. I get the kaytee in the orange bag. there is also a blue bag I just bought that has a green cheek conure pic on the front with a lovebird. I got some of that too. just the other food mix for conures look too big, since the green cheek is the smaller of the conures. I also offer a bowl of pretty bird small pellets.
yes definately get different sizes i have a long one that goes all the way across it is sort of flat like and i have the natural like branch one and the a bigger round one, also they do have conure food but i try to give a different variety my conure likes one paticular seed so i get cockateil and then the regular conure food also get him a really cozy place for sleeping they love to feel comfy and safe i have a rope ring he can sit in and sleep oh and one more tip i use hamster water bottles for their water all my birds used them they are great i never understood why the pet stores don’t use them their water stays clean and fresh my conure is 15 years old
