Question #1:Please Help! Picky Budgies!?I have four budgies at home. Two of them were only offered seed at the pet store, and the other two were feed only seed at their old home. I want to switch them over to a home cooked diet such as pasta, vegetables, fruit, greens, pellets, and only occasionally seed. I know that an all seed diet is like a death diet, and I really want (and need) to switch their diet around, but they are SO PICKY! I give them seed with pellets in it, and when they eat, they leave all the pellets behind! I have tried sooo many things to try and get them to eat other stuff. Feeding them out of my hand, making the food look like a toy, giving them only non-seed food for supper, offering them pellets again, etc.. They just don't bother to even try the new food. I have had two of my birds for about 2 years now, and the other two for about a year. I've tried to get their diet switched around ever since I got them, but they refuse the new food. Please help me!Question #2:what is wrong with my budgie??ive recently noticed my budgie vomiting up bird seed and then eating it again..why is he doing this and what can i do to help him??is this really bad?? Question #3:should i get a cockatiel or a budgie?i really want a bird but i cant decide on if i should get a cockatiel or a budgie. both are a type of small parrot and both are supposed to be able to learn to say a couple of words and to whistle and stuff like that. my family has owned macaws before, but now i am looking for something smaller and less demanding. i have done TONS of research on both budgies and cockatiels. i have read dozens of books about each bird and i have gone to the pet store and i wrote down the prices for the bids and the supplies it needs. i was considering getting both but then i realized that i don't have the money. so should i get a cockatiel or budgie? if you have any other suggestions of other types of birds, please tell me. i want something small or medium that can talk and has lots of personality. thanks!Question #4:ATTENTION ALL BUDGIE OWNERS & BREEDERS?give me lots of experience imformation about breeding & tips for budgies. He is out of his cage 99% of the time, even when he sleeps. Since I am home with him all day, everyday, he is use to being outside his cage. He is with me all the time wherever I am in the house. However, if I need to leave the house to run an errand, I don't like leaving him uncaged, and unattended. He refuses to go in his cage now. He flies away as soon as I get him by the door. What to do?Question #6:Breeding Budgies?!?!?I recently put a nest box in my female budgie, and male budgies cage. The female is always inspecting it. She bites on the window holes on the top of the nest. She has seen the enterance but only bite it and then went back to the windows. She usually sits on the top and bites on the edges of the windows. What is she doing and why is she doing this i never saw them mate i only see the male singing constantly to the female?The nest is in the cage. i feel it is better to have it that way. Question #7:Whats better to get, a cockatiel or a budgie?Question #8:what is up with my budgie?i have 2 budgies but my female budgie has just started to dig her way into the seed holder when she gets in there she falls asleep. why is this? is there something wrong with her?sorry yes i have 1 female and 1 male i has to put them in differnet cages a few days ago as the female was biteing the male Question #9:Who knows some cute names for budgies?I'm getting a Budgie soon and the possible colours it might be are Yellow or Blue (if this helps) I was wondering if anyone knew some cute names? I know all budgies are different but if your budgie really liked something, could you let me know because i'd like some idea's, Thanks xQuestion #11:pellets and veggies?how can i get my two little budgies to eat some veggies i know they don't think it's food and watching me eat them doesn't help, currently they are on a harrisons pellet diet, but they get sick frequently and every other bird i've had never had a problem with the pellets. please help.I want to know how to get them to eat the veggies please no seed eater crap. Question #12:why do my budgies are separated from each other?????they are not like that before.. now the male is seated in another perch and so as the female...they usually are together as always!!!!! why is this happening???? one more thing... my cage is a little big for my two birds so that sometimes i can't reach them...what should i do???? one more, in that cage there is a platform just above where the door is... they go there so that i really CAN'T reach them! they are not tamed... what should i do with the cage?? and their relationship??? pls answer my question!!! what is wrong?? is there something wrong with my question??? Question #13:Sick budgies,does anyone have any ideas?I've been given two budgies and they both appear to have enlarged beaks, one has become flightless and I'm worried if it is a disease it will spread to my other birds, I haven't been able to find any pictures online that look like what my birds have. At the point where he starts showing illness I have to wonder is he dying and is there anything I can do?Question #18:10pts Budgie Presents?how do you know if your budgie eggs are fertile, i just wanna know, mine are clear with litthe darker pathces at the bottom of the egg, this is Maggie (budgie) 4th try now, with a different partener twise.just hope that helps to, the bird it 1years. thanks!!! Kat Question #19:Why does my parakeet do this?My parakeet is really mean. We used to have 2 budgies. Skye and Coco. Skye always beat up Coco but Coco never hurt her only once(when he started picking at her neck for payback). Coco always preened her and fed her but all she did was peck his neck! here is a picture of them..Skye is green and Coco is blueClick Here Please help I the end Coco flew away and I want to get another bird but my parents wont let me because she already got rid of one and killed another one :O How can i prevent this from happening?
