get him to a vet he is not a healthy bird. birds will hide an illness until they are seriously and possibly deathly ill.

Your bird is not healthy he is sick and chances are he won’t live much longer.

if you know it’s bad sign then PLEASE call a vet instead of being on line…….chances are if your bird is not perching, puffed and wincing (sesame seed looking eyes) he is gravely ill or dying…..getting the bird into the vet in a timely manner is common sense and should been done right away. birds will try to hide their illness out of instincts to protect themselves from predators in the wild……so any little sign must be addressed promptly and urgently……you need an avian vet specialist….not just any old hamster vet…

you need to give your budgie (marvel aid) for about 3-5 days if you do not have any marvel aid you can give it glucose, mixed in a glass and use a syringe and give it to the budgie. the bird also needs sunlight and avoid from
spraying of any type of cologne and air freshner.

I know this is distressing. Cleaning products and teflon are deadly to birds. This is the weekend and unless you have a certified avian specialist vet – no other vet will know what to do. So, I recommend you put a heating pad on low, beneath the cage and cover it overnight. If he is still alive in the morning, hand feed him some of his favorite treats. You can mash up a hardboiled egg and feed him bits of it. Get some Rescue Remedy from a health food store and give him 2 drops 3x a day. It is for people and does wonders for our pets too.

I wish you luck – please let us know how it goes.
