Is my budgie/parakeet sick?
My budgie had his head under his wing when he was sleeping, which i heard, is a bad sign. When I came over he woke up. Then, he started to sleep in his normal way of lifting his leg up. I am positive he wasn’t just scratching himself. He has been acting as his usual self otherwise. He is very playful and active. Do you think his sick. I have never seen him do that.

What should I know about Budgies?
I am wanting to get a budgie parakeet in a few months. I own two dogs and want a bird. I was thinking of just getting one. I read on petsmart they can be solitary. I like a round cage at walmart. It’s tall but narrow. What should I know. Cuttlebones, food, nesting, newpaper, handling, training. I will get it from either petsmart or pet supermarket. Which is better?

Parakeet taming?
I have a new parakeet (not a budgie parakeet, more of a small parrot parakeet) well fairly new,
it’s 1 1/2 years old, and I brought him off a friendly couple that couldn’t train or tame him,
(I think it was their method of trying and lack of patience)
but now im trying to tame him myself, he just isn’t getting used to me, here’s what ive tried,
also ive had him 7 days today.
1, putting my hand in the cage and slowly approaching him, but he didn’t seem to be getting used to my hand.
there were a couple of other techniques I tried but I don’t want to end up writing too much,
also he had no toys so I put in a new mirror was this a wise desicion?
also there are two budgies nearby his cage that are very tame could they be disracting him?

also could you help me with wheather it’s male or female,
it has a yellow cere. thanks
Thanks for the reply sounds like great advice, it’s getting pretty pecky now, so I will use perhaps one of it’s perches,
I just looked up sexing parakeets mine a boy, because it’s got a full red head with a lot of red on it’s breast, thanks for the comment so far.

Why is my budgie parakeet vomiting?
Last night i was looking at my two birds and all of a sudden one started pumping his neck and was spitting out balls of food and he was shaking his head causing the vomit to fly everywhere…it was on the cage floor and the walls and the toys and perches…what should i do?? whats wrong?? please help!!!

I found a budgie parakeet outside?
Yesterday afternoon, I found a budgie parakeet outside under my bird feeder. When I went outside to refill it, the bird didn’t fly away. I noticed it wasn’t a wild bird, so I stuck my finger out and it climbed on. I put him in the garage, went got him a cage and some food, got home and put him in. Now, he is breathing fast and seems to shake. Is it because he was outside and I put him in there?
