I have two little Parakeets and I need info?
I have two sweet birds. problem is I work all the time and hardly have time for them. I feed them every night, clean cage, fresh water, food, the works! Should i make time to spend with them so they will be more friendly when someone trys to hold them or are they just fine together?

Is this bird abuse or what? How can I train her?
Ok so we recently got a 5-6 year old parakeet from my aunt who neglected the bird very badly. In her cage was nothing just an old pooped ladder and a small wooden perch. They didn’t clean the cage for months and there was just layers of droopings, feather, food, and newspaper. They never changed the water so it was full of feathers and parasites. The food was stale and dry. She had mites, overgrown nails, and overgrown beak. Was never interacted with or talked to until we finally took her home.
We got her another young parakeet, new food, fresh water, a cuttlebone, a calcium perch, a swing, a new small easy to clean ladder, a water botlle, some treat sticks, millet spray, mite spray, and bird bath spray. Now my only problem is how to train to become use to human contact and have her and sit on my finger. Any ideas?
I never gave my aunt a new bird I gave the abused bird a friend(young male)and they are getting along great.

Please help, my budgie?
Ok well I was asleep when I heard my budgie Jazz flying rapidly around her cage. I thought she was just being herself but it wouldn’t stop and so I went down to see if she was ok. Her wings were spread apart and she was very limp. She lives with another budgie. They had fresh water, food and cage, and a cloth covering the cage so I don’t know why she was like this. I took her out and stroked her gently, and she started sitting on my finger then fluttering her wings some more. I put her back in the cage and she just clung to the side not moving. She was breathing normally. I put my finger to stroke her and she moved away, her old self. What it wrong with her? It’s 4 in the morning here, will she be OK? I will call the vet in the morning.
Thank you.

How often do I need to change my bird’s water?
It’s a budgie, we just got it today, it still has fresh water. Right now, it’s up in its cage in my room — its so cute!!
Anyway, I was wondering, how often should I change its food and water? Every 6 hrs, every 8 hours? Advice?
