Emergency advice about Parakeets?
I have to new baby (4-6 months) parakeets at my dad’s house it’s rodent free but i’m thinking about bringing it to my mom’s house but there’s one problem, my mom has these mice that keep coming in from outside from some hole will they come after my parakeet to try to eat them or will the food attract them?Or will they be afraid of the parakeets vice versa.

Making Your Own Baby Parakeet Food?
Does anyone know how to make YOUR OWN parakeet food, NOT from the pet store? I have a baby in this case – very inappropriate:
Ok so the dad keeps trying to do some pretty dirty things to it. We thought it was a male until he started doing that. The cere is pinkish and purplish at about 4.5 weeks old. Then we started to think it was more and more of a female once the mom abandoned it and tries to prevent daddy from feeding it. We think that’s cause it’s another female trying to protect her new clutch (ALREADY???)
Okee so I really need to feed it. I DO KNOW how to feed it, just not what. I do not have time to buy it myself, but if you do know any brands I can quickly pick up?
ALSO – they are planned to be seperated next week, but I still NEED answers fast, for a little budgie needs your help!!!

How can i convince my parents to let me get another pet?
im 13 years old, I want a budgie, my friend used to have one and they are ADORABLE… hers died… idk why… she says it was poisoned from chewing the cage bars but ive been in the pet store and all of them do that… unless she had a lead cage, (O_O;) then i think shes full of crap… but… i am not her… i ALWAYS do as much research as possible before i get a pet, i have two male gerbils, a dog, and a betta fish at my mothers house, but dog is basically hers, and the betta and gerbils we kind of share (the gerbils are mine but while im at my dads she takes care of them and i feed her fish sometimes)
and at my dads we have 2 cats. both cats are basically my dads (i dont feed them because the small of the food makes me gag) and i dont clean the litterbox because thats just nasty….
but at my moms i clean the cage every couple weeks.
I’m very responsible, iw as doing really bad at school for the first semester, and the 3rd quarter, (not because im not responsible, but because i get bullied a lot and i get nervous and can never remember anything for my life…(of course im not making excuses its still my job to have all my homework done, nervous or not) but what i turn in i usually get A’s on…) but im trying to get my grades up so i can ask my mom over he summer using my good grades as a reason, like getting a bird as a reward
i havent asked her yet…
im probably going to have to have it at my moms because ya know… my dads house has the cats…
now i know i have a lot of animals but with animals im very responsible, i love animals a lot. But we’ve had problems when i was younger with me getting tired of animals and my parents ending up taking care of them…
ive tried promising to pay for everything myself and that doesnt work… im going to try helping around the houses morea and stuff too and ill amek sure i do that form now on even after i get the bird so they know im responsible… im old enough that i should be doing that anyway, but i dont -_-
now keep in mind we live in a tiny apt… ill probably wait until we move into a better (and hopefully bigger) one… we know some nice affordable ones that we’ll take a look at soon, im hoping we can move into them before the end of the school year, but we might not be able to, so i might have to wait a couple years, but anyway im willing to wait since i need time to save up the money and stuff…
im thinking about bringing up the topic of birds at supper tonight…
but not directly asking for one…
i havent really researched them yet but ill do lots of research before i even THINK about asking her (so im already thinking of asking her, you knwo what i mean!)
but i hear that although they make noise constantly, it isnt loud, it cant be any worse than the the gerbils wheel at 3 A.M….
im really hoping that i can get one but i might ahve to wait until i grow up and move out and stuff… but i really want one now… or within a couple years… and yes, i know im more likely to be able to get one in a couple years…
ive read they are fairly easy to take care of but like i said i havent done research… so i dont really know… im thinking about asking to go to the petshop tomorrow “just for fun” and spending a lot of times looking at birds lol
itll be good for me to find out the behaviors and stuff with some “almost hands on experience” (as i call it, A.K.A. seeing how the act without really taking care of it…)
anyway, i want to show them i really am interested in getting a bird, or another pet if i do research and find out they arent my thing…
i want a fennec fox but they are WAAAAAAY to expensive and a lot of work (although i am very hyper so id be able to take care of it and play with it and stuff, which is why i want one…)
lol like i said i have no nitention of poisoning it…
I cant get rid of a gerbil! ![]()
i wuvv them too much < ![]()
anyway my mom would just think that i didnt want pets bad enough...
they dont need any extra work for two rather than one, they share a cage and a water bottle, the only thing is they need more food, since water is supposed to be changed daily anyway, and they barely eat any food anyway...
plus they live happier in pairs, which is why we got two in the first place (dont worry! theyre both male! no little baby gerbils for us!)

Leave the Budgies or Take?
Okay, I have to go to school tomorrow and I’m going to my dad’s house since my parents are divorced. I just bought two budgies a week ago and I have to take them to my dad’s house because I have to change their water daily since I can buy a water bottle until a new shipment comes in. I also can’t leave them because my mom is going away. If I take them to my dad’s they’ll be scared at school and I taking them places will scare them and they could possibly get sick. But If I leave them at home there is a possibility they will get sick too. Which one should I choose? Take or Leave?
I’d only be leaving the budgies at school for a day and then pick them up afterwords. I’d do the same on Monday. I’m going to my dad for a bit more than the weekend. Then I’d bring them back until I’d have to go back in two weeks. By then I should have the water bottle.
Oh and I don’t mean they’ll get sick by me just taking them I mean they’ll get stressed and that isn’t too good.

Help please?
I have this budgie and it’s wicked hot so my mom decided to let the bird play in the cold water. She didnt let him stay in it for too long but he got wet from the water pouring from the sink.
My question is,is this okay for a bird and will the cold water make it sick. Also should we let him stay in an air conditioned room thats not too cold but not too hot instead of the burning hot living room.
Thanks in advance!
