My Parakeet’s Beak is overgrown?

I know the best thing to do is to go to the vet, but I honestly cannot afford that. Is there any safe way to help get his beak back to the right size?
He has toys and a cuttlebone, but doesn’t use them much.

I know there’s those special beak clippers, but I don’t feel comfortable with those. I heard you could use a nail filer to try to trim it down a little. Would that be okay?

Or is there any special foods or treats I can try to feed him? Although the only thing I’ve ever gotten him to accept from my hand was lettuce.

I have an untamed adult female budgie who I think has a sprained ankle what should I do?

Hi, so my budgie was wobbling around on her perch and flapping her wing but now she’s in the food bowl. When I go near her, she starts to get scared and I’m afraid of hurting her even more. She’s untamed so I can’t pick her up or even go near her without scaring her. I know I may sound like a bad owner but she has a friend (another female) but I’m really scared for her and I don’t want to move her perches anywhere because I know she’s going to get hurt I can’t even change her water or food or take her to the vet!! It hurts me whenever she moves and I feel her pain and I don’t know what to do… What’s the worst case scenario? Could she possibly die?

My budgie seems sick, but only after getting a new budgie. Can anyone tell me why?

I’ve had this male budgie for 6 months now and he’s been fine. But just last weekend I bought a new bright yellow budgie, which I can’t tell if its a male or female, but the pet shop owner told me it was a female, that’s about all the owner knew. Any way the two birds got along fine for a few days as they were in the same cage. But a couple days later my male bird began to huddle down and all his feathers puffed up, and he was less active than before, but he still drank and eat normally. I suspect he might be pin feathering. The other bird is fine, she’s not pin feathering. The first time I got the budgies I got two, the male that is sick now and a female. But the female had the same symptoms as the current male I have now, and she died within a few days later. I fear that my male bird might die as well. I haven’t changed any conditions, the cage is in the same place, the birds are being fed the same food. Is my bird reacting badly just to the new bird? Can anyone tell me why and if my bird could die? And any solution to save my bird would be gratefully accepted.
I’m afraid I’m looking for more detailed answers. And I can’t afford to take the bird to the vet.
