Four little words: Get His Wings Clipped.
You will NEVER get him to sit still if he knows he can just fly away from you. Clip those wings and he’ll learn he can’t get away so easily anymore.

when that happens(im an expert)you have to first hold it with two hands one on top and one on bottom.one of the will hold the wings.after that clip its wings make sure your ready and now not to clip its blood wings

Budgies are considered in the “small birds” group and very little of them (10 out of 100) allow their owners to pet them. Maybe you have not trained it enough so i does not stand on your finger long enough or maybe its hyperactive.

What you can do is to try to let it stay on your finger by feeding it a small slice of apple when it is on your finger. If it flies off, follow it and continue feeding it. Then slowly put your finger near it and it would step up. Try dififerent treats each time.

First you have to clip it’s wings. You can learn how to do this by watching the video on the link below:

Second, it takes patience. Stick with it. When it hops off your finger, keep offering it to him as a way to get wherever it is he wants to go (like back to the cage). The more you patiently work with it, the more it will trust you. Try to avoid grabbing it to get it to do what you want it to do as more often than not, it will decrease your chances greatly of it envisioning you as a friend.

Good luck to you and I hope that video helps you to understand the correct way to clip a birds wings.
