As to what to look for in a budgie, you want a healthy budgie. An alert, active, budgie that perches well and has good feather condition is what you want to buy. Avoid buying any budgies that have a dirty vent, runny cere, scaly face or legs, sleep too much, sneeze too much, have bald spots, lay at the bottom of the cage, are fluffed up most of the time, and don’t perch well.
